# Netrinos Mobile v1.3.4 Release Notes

**Release Date**: 2026-10-05
**Version**: 1.3.4 (Android and iOS)

## Overview

Version 1.3.4 brings the Android and iOS apps into line with the
desktop client and includes everything since mobile 1.3.1. The headline is gateway routes: a phone can
now send chosen sites and subnets through a gateway on your network,
as the desktop client does. Connections also recover faster when a
phone changes networks, and the service buttons open the right app
for SSH, file transfer, Remote Desktop and cameras.

## Gateway routes

- **Route via Gateways.** Settings has a new page to send a domain,
an address or a subnet through a device on your network that has
Act as a Gateway turned on. It works like the desktop Gateways
page: add a route, pick the gateway, and switch it on or off.
Routing all traffic is not offered.
- **Plans are respected.** Pro plans pick a gateway per route.
Personal plans have one gateway for every route, and changing it
moves them all. The route limit of your plan applies on the phone.
- **Fails closed.** If a route's gateway goes offline, its traffic
stops instead of leaving through the phone's own network, and the
route shows a warning triangle. It resumes when the gateway is
  back.
- **IPv6 cannot slip past the gateway.** On networks with IPv6, a
routed site's IPv6 addresses are refused, so apps use IPv4 through
  the gateway at once.
- **Routes change without dropping connections.** Adding or editing
a route updates the tunnel in place.

## Connection reliability

- **Follows the phone's network.** When the phone moves between
Wi-Fi and mobile data, or between Wi-Fi networks, it reconnects to
the Netrinos service within a second or two.
- **Sized for mobile networks.** The tunnel uses 1280-byte packets,
which pass through every carrier network whole.
- **Fast recovery after an outage.** When the network comes back, the
phone is retrying within seconds and resyncs as soon as it
  reconnects.
- **Restarted devices are reachable in seconds.** When another device
restarts, the phone drops its old address at once and reaches it
  at the new one.
- **Handles a relay going down.** If the relay device stops
answering, the phone falls back to the Netrinos hub and returns to
the relay when it is back.
- **Easy on the battery.** Devices that cannot be reached directly
are left quiet until a direct path is confirmed.
- **Works around stale NAT mappings.** When a router ages out the
phone's mapping, the phone moves to a fresh port and re-announces
  itself, with no restart.
- **Verified connections.** A device shows as reachable once a check
  passes through the tunnel itself.

## Service buttons

- **One action per button.** Port 22 shows two buttons, Terminal and
Files. SSH, SFTP and FTP ask for a username first and remember it
  for that device.
- **Cameras.** The camera button signs in to the camera, finds its
streams and opens the one you pick in your video player, such as
  VLC.
- **Remote Desktop** opens Microsoft's Windows App, and SMB opens the
  Files app on iPhone.
- **When no app can open a link,** the button says so and offers the
link to copy. Buttons whose app is missing are shown in blue.

## Status display

- **One icon set across desktop, Android and iOS.**
- **Relayed devices show a relay arrow**, green once the device is
confirmed reachable; offline devices show a slashed cloud.
- **This device's cloud means the mesh is up**: green when at least
one other device is reachable end to end.

## Android

- **Auto-connect after reboot.** The VPN comes back on its own after
a restart, without opening the app, once the phone is unlocked.
- **IPv6 alongside the VPN.** Apps reach the internet over IPv6 while
the VPN is on, which matters on IPv6-only carriers.
- **Targets Android 16.**

## iOS

- **Auto-connect after restart.** The tunnel returns on its own after
the iPhone restarts, and the Auto-connect switch stays in step
with Connect On Demand in iOS Settings.
- **Edit a route in place.** Tap a route's name to change it.

## Support and diagnostics

- **Logs on request.** The account's portal can ask the app to
upload its recent log, so a problem can be looked at without you
sending files. Desktop has the same feature.
- **Log timestamps are UTC with milliseconds**, matching desktop.

## Compatibility

- Works with desktop and edge clients from v1.2.4 through v1.3.3.
- Gateway routes need a device with Act as a Gateway turned on and a
  plan that includes routes.
- No configuration changes required.

## Updating

Google Play and the App Store deliver the update automatically. To
update now, open the store listing and tap **Update**.
